  1. Write 3 two sentence story. Pick three genres (I am going to do Romantic, Comedy, and Horror). After you have your 3 genres write the story out and dwindle it down to two sentences that tell the important and complete story.
  2. Pick a favorite word either to say or one that you love its meaning. Use it to start a story or poem. Have that word be the beginning of the story and the focus of the story or the poem.
  3. You grew up hearing about lucky people just waking up in their dream lives. Then one day you wake up in a different life. Only it’s not your dream, but a stranger’s. What do you do? Who is the stranger?
  4. Tell a story about time travel but try to come up with a new idea or way of doing it. If you have seen or read an aspect of something you are writing try to change that aspect. This will be hard, but even slight changes may lead to a more interesting story.
  5. What does race mean to you? Express your answer the best way you see fit, whether that is a poem, story, or monologue.
